Please join us for a series of public meetings where the Massachusetts Department of Conservation and Recreation (DCR) and the Emerald Necklace Conservancy will present and obtain feedback on options for improving safety and accessibility for all people walking, running, biking, and driving, at three key areas:
Perkins St and Parkman Dr – Perkins St Pedestrian Crossing Study

Boston Bikes Update

Join us for the last Bike Friday of the year!
August 30th, 7-9am
It will be a special event with a safety demonstration!
Stop by to learn about truck side guards, blind spots on large vehicles, and bike racks on buses.
Come join hundreds of cyclists for a morning bike party on City Hall Plaza. We’ll start the morning right – enjoy free breakfast by Boloco, bike away with free goodies, and spend the morning with some of your best cycling friends. Register now at www.bikefridays.org.

Brookline Transportation Board Meeting – Thursday Jan. 26th 7 – 9 p.m. Room 111 Brookline Town Hall, 333 Washington St. Brookline
There are several bike related agenda items including:
Discussion and Action on proposed contraflow bicycle lane on Green St. From Dwight to Harvard.
Discussion and Action on proposed contraflow bicycle lane on Park St. From Marion to Beacon.
Discussion and Action on proposed contraflow bicycle lane on Dudley St. From Lee to Walnut.
Discussion and Action on proposed bicycle lane and shared lane markings on Washington St. From Cypress to the town line.
If you ride in Brookline and especially on any of these streets then think about attending.
Mass DOT Public Meeting on Fore River Bridge Replacement Project – Thursday Feb. 9th 7 – 9 p.m. Abigail Adams Middle School Auditorium 89 Middle St, East Weymouth, MA
A Design Public Hearing will be held by MassDOT to discuss the proposed Fore River Bridge Replacement Project in Weymouth and Quincy, MA
The current plan calls for two travel lanes with bikes relegated to the shoulder “a bicycle accommodating shoulder” and sidewalks for pedestrians.
If you have ridden over this bridge you know that any upgrade will be welcome but please attend to advocate for better bicycle accommodations such as a dedicated cycle track or shared separated pedestrian/bicycle path across the bridge.

View The Boston Bike Network Plan Tonight

There are four important public meetings coming up this week and next. All these meetings are great opportunities to give feedback on long term projects that will have great benefits for cycling.
- Wednesday Nov 16 from 5:30 – 8:30 p.m. Boston Bikes is having a review of the Boston Bike Network Plan at the Boston Public Library in Copley Square lower level McKim Room A.
- Thursday Nov 17 from 7 – 9 p.m. DCR will present plans and ask for input on the Neponset River Greenway Improvement Project at the Foley Senior Residences, 249 River St. in Mattapan
- Monday Nov 21 from 5:30 – 8:30 p.m. Mass DOT and the Casey Overpass Working Group will present plans and asks for comment on the Casey Overpass reconstruction project at William A. Hinton State Laboratory 305 South StreetJamaica Plain
- Newly added Tuesday Nov 22 from 6 – 8 p.m. Mass DOT is holding a public meeting on the future of Morton St. – attend and ask for a cycle track to be installed – Mildred Ave. School 3 Mildred Ave., Mattapan (thanks to BCU for the heads up)
