Minuteman In East Arlington Closed For Bump Removal
Written by Boston Biker on Nov 18Just received the following notice from the Town. This is to fix some of the bumps in the path.
“Bike Path Closures Nov 20 through Nov 22
Weather permitting sections of the Minuteman Bike Path will be closed between 7:00a.m. – 4:00p.m. on November 20th through the 22nd for paving repairs. The general locations for repairs are from Linwood St. to Lake St., and Lake St. to Thorndike Field. Please observe “do not enter” signs and seek alternative routes around these work areas during these times.
All modes of travel (pedestrian, bicycles) will not be allowed in work areas.”
Hurrah!
The bumps are annoying, please and thank you for removing them Arlington.
Love cyclists.

Help Improve The Minuteman
Written by Boston Biker on Sep 20from the email
————-
“In the spirit of improving user information on and near the Minuteman Bikeway, a Recreational Trails Program grant is underwriting a review of the Minuteman Bikeway on behalf of the towns of Arlington, Bedford, and Lexington. Toole Design Group (TDG) has begun its work; some of you have volunteered to help with the inventory of existing conditions. They have also developed a two-page user questionnaire to gather opinions about trail signage (on and near the Bikeway), intersection crossings, and trailside amenities. And there’s room at the end of the survey for more general comments.
The questionnaire is at this site: http://tiny.cc/minuteman Please take a few minutes to fill it out, your opinions and suggestions are very important to this effort.” Become a part of this three-community effort!

Bruce Freeman Rail Trail, You CAN Get There From Here
Written by Boston Biker on Sep 11So many of you heard, the Bruce Freeman Rail Trail in Chelmsford is now open, after many (many) years of struggle the first link in what will one day be a very impressive trail is up and running!
The problem of course is if you live in Boston, how do you get out to ride this badboy? Lucky for us Maria Varmazis has done all the leg work for us! Not only has she written up a fantastic tour of the entire trail, but has helpfully included a map for how to get from the end of the Minute Man Trail to the start of the BFRT! Thanks Maria!

Boston #BikeUp This Sunday!
Written by Adam Pieniazek on Jun 26Barring any major weather issues, this Sunday June 28th a few of us will be getting together for a group ride down the Minuteman Bikeway.
We’ll meet outside the Davis Square MBTA station at 10:45 AM and take off for the bike path at 11 AM. We plan on pedaling at a real casual pace, but we’ll play it by ear based on the experience level of the riders.
Sign up for the #Bikeup on eventbrite or facebook.
Any questions, feel free to contact Aaron Cohen (@UnlikelyWords), Josh Gans (@SportsFan4), or Adam Pieniazek (@AdamPieniazek). You can also call 617 326 7402.
See you there!
