————-
The Massachusetts Bicycle Coalition (MassBike) will celebrate its 35th anniversary in style, with a bicycle fashion show and silent auction focusing on functional, fashionable cycling apparel. Bike Night: “Beyond the Spandex” presented by The Westin Waterfront and MassBike will take place May 3rd, 2012 from 6:30 – 9pm at the Westin Waterfront Hotel in Boston.
This benefit will bring together the cycling community from around the state for a special night of food, fun, and bicycle fashion, all supporting the advocacy and education MassBike has been doing for the past 35 years to support better bicycling in Massachusetts. The event will include a cocktail reception, seated three course dinner, silent auction and raffle, as well as a fashion show showcasing the best in urban bicycle fashion.
As David Watson, Executive Director of MassBike explained, “Bicycling is an increasingly popular transportation choice, and we want to show everyone that biking is a practical, fun, stylish option for all types of people.”
The fashion show will include items from Ibex, Hincapie, Sock Guy, Swrve, Nuu-Muu, REI, Brompton, Rudy Project, Defeet, Geekhouse, Club Ride, EMS, and many more!
Throughout the evening, attendees will have a chance to buy raffle tickets to win one of three urban commuter bicycles from Trek, Specialized and Giant. In addition to the raffle there will be a silent auction with a number of premium items from Bailey Works, Hubway, Sam Adams, Grey Goose Vodka, ZipCar, Road ID, Mavic and more.
Bike Night will be a really special night for the bicycling community – not only will there be wonderful food and entertainment but the event supports the great work MassBike has done for the past 35 years to promote biking as safe, accessible, and fun. From the sponsors and location to food, drinks, and entertainment, this year’s Bike Night is sure to be the bike event that everyone is talking about. Tickets can be purchased online at MassBike.org or by calling 617-542-2453.

About The Moving Co.
The Moving Co. is a band from the Somerville area that plays a mixture of soul, funk, rock, and hip hop. The band consists of Duncan on vocals, Willie on bass, Jared on guitar, Sam on keys, Max on drums, Ben on saxophone, and John on trumpet and vocals. They are thrilled to play at this year’s MassBike night. Playing a combination of original compositions and classic covers, the Moving Co. just wants you to have a good time and move.
About Jess Baggia
Hailing from southern New Hampshire, Jess Baggia recently moved to Boston with an eye on the local music scene. After a stint as a music journalist for the local publication, Performer Magazine, Baggia has refocused her efforts on her own creative process. 2009 marks the debut of her new EP, “Back in the Game.” Sensual and dyanmic, Baggia has her own take on the singer/songwriter archetype: approachable and yet always organic; it’s the kind of folk-pop music you’d be more than willing to palate.
