New Bike Lanes On Mass Ave!
Written by Boston Biker on Dec 29Looks like the long awaited bike lanes on the Boston side of the Mass Ave bridge got painted some time in the last couple days. They are paint, and not thermo-plastic so they probably will need a refresh next year, and the bike symbols are not in yet, but its good to see them. I rode them Cambridge bound today (sorry too cold to stop and take a picture), and will ride them Boston bound tonight. So far they are having all the problems new bike lanes have (people driving in them, people parking in them), but that always happens when new bike lanes go in. I did see several cyclists using them, and its nice to see the bike lane system starting to become an interconnected system. Instead of a series of random bits of lane.
Anyone else have give them a try yet? Thoughts? Pictures?

New Bike Lanes On Lake Street!
Written by Boston Biker on Jul 11Got some reports of new paint on city streets any one confirm/get pics? Thanks Ronald for the tip!
——————-
They finally finished installing bike lanes on Lake Street. They used to go from Commonwealth Ave to Lake Shore Road but now they go all the way down to Washington Street. Only weird thing is they kept the “Bike Lane Ends” sign right before Lake Shore Road. Will try to get a picture for you.
The first half of Lake Street was recently paved and I wonder if they didn’t just wait until after the 2nd half get repaved to install the bike lanes. Depending on timing, it might cost them twice as much.

New Bike Lanes In Roslindale
Written by Boston Biker on Nov 22Got this in the email, any got pics or can confirm? Thanks Robert for the tip.
——————
If I read the markings correctly, it looks like they are about to mark bike lanes on Center St, Roslindale, between the West Roxbury Parkway and Weld St.
ps. I am working on a project to allow all of us to work on a Boston bike map…does anyone know any collaborative mapping tools (other than google maps?)
