Goodnight Hubway
Written by Boston Biker on Nov 15Its sadly that time again, the Hubways are starting to shut down for the winter. This year they were extended well into the colder months, perhaps if this trend continues in a few years we will see year round Hubway action!
If you have been outside at all you have seen that the Hubway system has exploded in popularity this year. With exponential growth, and awesome discounted memberships for low income people, this system is rapidly becoming the most reliable public transportation system in the city. Lets hope it continues to grow into the neighborhoods that need it most, and that we can push the closing date later and later each year till its open all year round!
From Hubway:
—————
SEASONAL STATION CLOSURES BEGIN MONDAY, NOVEMBER 18th
Stay tuned to thehubway.com/news for specific station schedules.
Hello from Hubway.
It’s that time of year again. Stations and bikes will soon be removed from the street for winter. Hubway will begin our regular season-end station closures on Monday, November 18, 2013, and the final day of 2013 regular season operations will be Wednesday, November 27th.
“When will my station close for the year?”
We’ll publish specific station closure and system alerts on the Hubway website, as well as Hubway’s facebook page and twitter profile. We will not send email alerts for each station, so make sure to check those sites for the latest info, and develop a contingency plan for routes that involve your favorite Hubway station. We are going to keep the wheels rolling on as many stations as possible through the 27th, so make sure you get in some extra miles in the next couple of weeks.
Thank you for 1.5 million rides… and counting!
