Forum Testing Contest
Written by Boston Biker on Mar 26Attention brave testers, I need some people to try out the new forums, in return I will bribe reward you with prizes!
The first 20 people who post something in the forum will be entered into a raffle. In this raffle I will be giving away some bike books and other bike stuff. Pretty good prize for just typing some stuff into a box!
The only rules are that you must try to test all the features of the forum, and it has to be a real discussion, none of that “this is a test” post business.
So go to it, the contest runs till the end of this week Friday at 5pm.
Post in this comment thread with any problems/feedback you might have with the forums.

New Forums!
Written by Boston Biker on Mar 25Just integrated the old forums into the main site…this should come with several benefits, namely if you already have a user account you should now have a forum account (no more double sign up), and it should just work better.
The old forums are going to be shut down in a couple weeks, you can find them here. If there is anything you need from over there I would suggest you get it soon.
The new forums are here. You can also get to it from the link at the top of the page.
The only bad thing of the process is that I was only able to rescue some of the previous posts. Most of the forum simply will not move over…so this just means you can now fill the forums with all new conversation!
Test it out and let me know if things are broken.
Thanks

New Feature, Easier Video Embed
Written by Boston Biker on Mar 23Some people have reported having trouble with embedding videos on their site, if you are one of them take a look at your settings screen, you will see a new option called “kses extent” simple check all the boxes and click save, this should allow video embedding, you may still have to turn the visual text editor off (in the users menu), or go to the HTML view on the new post screen, but it should work. Let me know if you are having any troubles.
If you don’t embed video’s you can ignore this.

New Theme, New Options
Written by Boston Biker on Mar 22I installed a new theme for people to use, its called twenty eleven, it has more customization options, and I have made it the default theme. Many people are already using Twenty Ten for their blogs, Twenty Eleven is a bigger better badder version of that. Switch if you like.
I have also come to the hard decision that I am going to have to put some Ad’s on most blog themes, hosting costs are ever so slightly more than ad revenue, so I need to get some more ad’s on blogs to pay the difference. If you have a deep philosophical aversion to allowing me to run some ad’s on your blogs let me know and I will work something out, otherwise expect your blog to have some ads on it in the near future.
