Forum Testing Contest
Written by Boston Biker on Mar 26Attention brave testers, I need some people to try out the new forums, in return I will bribe reward you with prizes!
The first 20 people who post something in the forum will be entered into a raffle. In this raffle I will be giving away some bike books and other bike stuff. Pretty good prize for just typing some stuff into a box!
The only rules are that you must try to test all the features of the forum, and it has to be a real discussion, none of that “this is a test” post business.
So go to it, the contest runs till the end of this week Friday at 5pm.
Post in this comment thread with any problems/feedback you might have with the forums.

Integration with site accounts is neat, and might help keep down spam.
A bunch of problems with the software though. It’s half-baked compared to most forum software I’m used to. Might be endemic with WordPress plugins though.
Can’t edit my post to correct broken links and formatting issues.
Can’t preview the post before I submit.
No list elements in the allowed markup.
Allowed markup list is hard to read, can’t see where each tag starts and ends.
I would way prefer Markdown over HTML formatting.

Bit-o-feedback:
I don’t mind the interface too much. But, I’m a programmer by trade, so I’m used to things like this.
I would definitely recommend limiting the number of forums until demand increases. Perhaps only start with a “general” forum for now.

Oh, it would also be really useful to explain to people how Gravatar works. Or have a link to it under the post link.
Otherwise there’s no way to figure out how to add an avatar.
