Lucas Brunelle’s Line Of Sight DVD Trailer

Written by Boston Biker on Jun 12

I know most people will think this is stupid, and dangerous, and it is. But its also a bunch of crazy bikers doing crazy things on film. Before you post your tirade in the comments do know I don’t endorse this sort of behavior, and am posting this because Lucas is from Boston, and this is bike related, and the trailer is awesome. Sometimes other people can do stupid things so you don’t have to.

    Looks as worthy of promotion as a snuff video and fairly close in content. Are there any delightfully bloody scenes of bike messengers running over cute little animals?

    Boston Biker,

    I think it’s not really helpful to the Bicycle Movement to call other bicyclists’ riding style as “stupid, dangerous, and crazy”.

    What is unsafe for most cyclists can be safe for messengers who spend all day every day riding in urban traffic.

    Many people describe riding on a busy street near where I live (El Camino Real south of San Francisco) “dangerous” and “crazy”, but that’s mostly because they themselves have never even tried it. With practice and experience and using safe riding techniques, it’s safe.

    People make the same uninformed judgements about me – that cycling on El Camino Real is stupid, dangerous, and crazy. I have taken hundreds of trips there without a single incident.

    If you believe that the way other cyclists are riding is dangerous, then you should advocate for increased enforcement of traffic laws.

    But please don’t call fellow cyclists stupid and crazy. Not helpful.

    The riders in my films are the best in the world in traffic. Calling someone stupid and crazy is simply animosity of their riding skillz

    I don’t aspire to ride like the dudes and dudettes in these films, but I still think it is an absolutely amazing display of skill.

    @lucas:

    so – based on the trailer – actually hitting a pedestrian and causing someone in their car to lock their brakes to avoid hitting you is neither stupid nor crazy? Just last week I watched a bike messenger came within inches of running over a 2 year old in a cross walk on mass ave right in front of cambridge city hall – just blew right through a red light through a line of people crossing the street. THIS is why people think you’re a bunch of asshats. and don’t tell me this jerk isn’t representative of your “culture.”
