Stolen Bike [Forum]

Written by Boston Biker on Jan 10

I get emails occasionally about stolen bicycles, like the one below:

I recently had a bike stolen from my condo building. It is a great bike (link below to busted spoke notification) and I am wondering if you had any advise or resources for me to reach out to in order to continue my search for the bike.

The bike was stolen directly from my basement, locked storage unit sometime within the last two weeks when I was on vacation. It definitely was someone who knew the value of the bike and targeted it. Figured that it would be resold in whole or for parts – interested to know if you have any information or resources on how to track it down through the biker community? Police report has been filed and am trolling craigslist / ebay. Any other recommendations?

Thank you in advance for your help

The sad truth is I don’t really know what else you can do other than keep an eye out on ebay/craigs list and alert everyone you can (including the cops) but in an effort to help get the word out I have started a category in the forum so that anyone can post stolen bike posts in an effort to get more eyes on the problem.

You can post your stolen bike details here
Also check out the stolen bike resources the city has to offer here.

Good luck
