It’s A Beautiful Day!

Written by Boston Biker on Mar 08

Holy crap! Have you all seen, there is a big glowing hot thing in the sky that hurts your eyes when you look at it. I don’t know where it came from, but I am pretty sure it hasn’t been here for the last couple months. With the nice weather, comes the flood of new bikers. I would like to take this moment to welcome you all back on to the roads, we the proud winter cyclists have been keeping them warm for you all winter, your welcome.

You may have also noticed that the Longfellow bridge is getting a sparkling (and I do mean sparkling, that paint shines like a Mormon vampire) new coat of paint on the bike lanes and they are even putting in the little bike guy symbols. It truly is a fine day. (I will try to get a picture soon, if you have one send it in!).

In other fun bike news, I would like to personally thank the Cambridge street fix’n department. I called them Friday morning to report a HUUUUUUUGE pot hole on Broadway and Galileo. I am talking, size of your front wheel, and a foot deep kind of pot hole. Friday night I ride past, and the damn thing was filled it! They even filled in a couple others that I hadn’t asked them to.

Same Day Service!

If you use the bike lanes on Broadway and you appreciate this level of customer service, call up the pot hole hot-line (617-349-4854) and tell them thanks!

ps. you can also call that number to report potholes.

What did you do to celebrate this fine weather we have been having?

That pothole was SO SCARY. I almost saw it too late a few weeks ago and very nearly ate pavement. Thanks for posting the phone number…

I reported a pothole on the Boston Bikes website and Nicole got it fixed within 3 days. Awesome!

And if you want to report a pothole in Somerville, use this form. I reported five potholes in my neighborhood on Saturday, and they were all filled two days later.
