Underpass Advocacy
Written by Boston Biker on Oct 14Got this in the email, sounds like a lovely improvement to make. Details below:
————-
The Charles River Conservancy is looking for our help to have underpasses added to the construction plans for the bridges that are slated to be replaced along the Charles River. These underpasses would be a huge step forward for all who use the river path, and for the whole movement toward healthy transportation alternatives and exercise routines.
The Governor has added an amendment to the Transportation bond bill to include them, but MassDOT hasn’t prioritized it at this point nor included it in design plans. The likelihood it’d happen after the bridges are built isn’t likely…
So before the design is finished, the Charles River Conservancy is trying to do something. The running community has been activated, and they asked me to help get the word out.
Their campaign has been successful so far – over 500 emails to the Governor have been sent since Friday, but we’re trying to get to 1000! That’s a big number, but we are confident we can get there with your help.
Follow this link – http://rcm.nu/QXfd1C – for additional info and to add you name to the petition / email the appropriate authorities that you think this is important!
