I used to do this occasionally on a motorcycle when it was really cold out. It makes a tremendous diff in comfort!
In this case, the cyclist is probably far enough away that he won’t hit the truck since the truck is incapable of slowing down fast and, anyway, the expressway is free of opportunities for sudden stops. But he better not let his concentration wander!
