Boston’s Downtown Bike Shop, Urban AdvenTours, is hiring bikers and
bike-friendly people of all kinds for part and full time work.

We have a variety of positions available from tour guide to sales.
Interested applicants should check our our listings on Craigslist and on our

Tour Guide and Boston Cycling Ambassador
If you love bikes and love riding in Boston, then this is the perfect job
for you! No tour guide experience required. We hire cyclists who are
outgoing, friendly, hardworking and knowledgeable about safe riding in an
urban environment.  Guides will be responsible for groups of 2-25 and must
be able to safely lead, and entertain our guests throughout the busy streets
of Boston.
We prefer a weekly shift commitment but will consider different schedules.
Must have urban cycling and customer service experience, a love of history
is a plus.

Additional language skills a plus.  Familiarity with Boston, knowledge of

Customer Service Associate/Boston Bike Concierge
If you are ready to interact with people across the globe, get visitors out
on bikes and maintain a high level of customer service, Urban AdvenTours
wants you!  We are looking for multiple individuals familiar with Boston who
are ready to take ownership of our front desk and serve as the first line of
contact for our customers.
Responsibilities:  Interact in person and on the phone with a variety of
guests, continuously ensuring a high level of professionalism.  Maintain the
appearance and organization of the space inside and out.  Manage the comings
and goings of our tour and rental customers.  Provide Boston recommendations
for guests and assist with directions.  Maintain our online photo archives
and customer database.
Cyclists with experience cycling in Boston, customer service and fast-paced
work environments encouraged to apply.  Additional language skills a plus.
Familiarity with Boston, knowledge of how to get around and places to see

Sales Associate
Knowledgeable about the latest and greatest new bikes and accessories?
Ready to help check in bikes for service and assist folks in finding the
perfect bike for them?  Urban AdvenTours wants you on our sales floor!  We
are looking for candidates with familiarity in sales, knowledge about bikes,
accessories, apparel and parts.
Responsibilities:  Interact in person and on the phone with a variety of
customers, continuously ensuring a high level of professionalism.  Maintain
the appearance and organization of the space inside and out (restocking,
refolding, cleaning, etc).  Assist in checking in repair bicycles.
Familiarity with POS systems, retail environments and extensive bicycle
knowledge a plus.  Weekly shift commitments are preferred but a variety of
hours are available.

Mechanic
We are looking for some dedicated mechanics to ensure a professional level
of service on every customer’s bike. Attention to detail is paramount to
success.
Primary Responsibilities:
•Professional level bike service.
•Bike shop floor sales.
•Receiving tune-ups fully and properly.
•Maintenance of tour/rental bike fleet.
•Assisting the shop manager in ordering/receiving/inventory.
Qualifications:
•2+ years shop experience as a mechanic.
•Ability to work on all bike styles.
•Strong attention to detail.
•Floor sales experience is a plus.

Marketing Assistant
We are looking to hire a qualified candidate to assist in our extensive
marketing and sales projects for the fall/winter of 2013. The Marketing
Assistant will be working directly with our Marketing team to facilitate our
varied communications and outreach, as well as taking part in event planning
and execution. The workload will be split between marketing duties and bike
shop operations. Applicants should be skilled at multitasking and
prioritization with the ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
