Bike Jobs: Summer Bike Intern

PumpTire is looking for a marketing professional to join an ambitious team for the summer. This is an entry level position that requires the individual to be creative and achieve goals through online marketing and network building using Facebook, Twitter and other social network tools. The engagement will last approximately 10 weeks. The first 5 weeks of the project will be dedicated to achieving Facebook networking goals. The second 5 weeks of the project will focus on achieving pre-sales goals of PumpTire’s first products through www.kickstarter.com. This is an ideal position for a motivated person to gain marketing experience with a very innovative company and product. Due to the newness of social networks, candidates of all experience levels and functional areas are encouraged to apply. Expected commitment is 20 hours/weeks.

This is a temporary position, however, there is also a very real opportunity for someone to bust their hump and join the PumpTire team on a permanent basis with the successful completion of the campaign. Expected compensation is $2,000-$7,500 based upon individual performance and successful completion of the Kickstarter campaign.

• A-type completer finisher, detail oriented

• Avid facebook, twitter, tumblr user

• Love of cycling, entrepreneurism, risk-taking

• Time to devote 10-20 hours per week for 10-week period

• Technical degree, marketing experience, MBA

ABOUT PUMPTIRE

PumpTire is commercializing the first self-pressurizing bicycle tire. Imagine taking your bicycle out of the garage and never having to fill up the tires or even check the pressure. Or imagine yourself being able to change your tire pressure on-the-fly with a simple adjustment from the handlebars. PumpTire is developing both of these systems. The self-inflating, self-adjusting technology is incorporated directly into the tire and is compatible with current rims, making it a simple addition to any bicycle. www.pumptire.com.

COMPENSATION

• Generate and pursue +20 media contacts to online magazines, blogs, etc. resulting in at least 10 mentions, articles or other online promotion of PumpTire.
• Get 200 Facebook likes
• Get PumpTire introduction email posted to 20 cycling clubs’ member distribution

Compensation: $2000-$7500

Truck Driver/Warehouse
We have a full-time opening for a customer service oriented person to join our team. Responsibilities include delivering product from Landry’s Natick warehouse to all store locations, supporting warehouse operations, and promoting a positive experience for Landry’s staff and customers.
Requirements:
• A valid driver’s license with a satisfactory driving record
• A friendly, professional, and courteous attitude
• Organizational skills
• Ability to manage problems and resolve conflicts using tact and diplomacy
• Skill in the operation of delivery vehicles
• Ability to read, write, and follow written and oral instructions in English
• Ability to learn delivery routes and read maps
• Basic knowledge and skill in using a computer to access and enter data
• Willingness to work flexible hours
• Ability to maintain high standards of health and safety
Responsibilities:
• Provide the best possible customer service to all internal and external Landry’s customers
• Deliver products promptly and without damage
• Perform routine preventive maintenance and cleanings
• Maintain accurate and timely data entry of inventory
• Promptly and responsively answer incoming calls
• Maintain warehouse to meet the company standards of cleanliness and safety
• Assist in labeling and allocation of incoming product
