This tour will begin with a bicycle safety check, breakfast, and then a leisurely afternoon of studio visits. The tour will also be self-guided. There will be an iphone app that you can download on the JPOS website and there will be icons on the JPOS artist map that cyclists can use to create their own bike tour.

Join DEHC and Dot Bike for the Moving Planet Bike Parade Sat. 9/24 2:15 p.m

Hundreds of Bostonians will be marching, rolling, hollering, hooting, and otherwise merry-making through the streets on Saturday, September 24th to raise awareness about climate change, and your help is needed!

DotBike and the Dorchester Environmental Health Coalition (DEHC) will be organizing a group of people biking through Dorchester to the waterfront in downtown Boston for the Moving Planet rally (http://moving-newengland.org/).

The group will meet at Peabody Square at 2:15 p.m. and leave by 2:30, stopping at Columbia Road and Dorchester Ave, and continuing on by 3:00 to bike into downtown Boston. Join the group at one of these stops, or at anywhere along the route! Those taking public transportation can hop on the Red Line and get off at South Station, where parade marshals will be directing festival-goers to the waterfront.

If you’re interested in joining, please email Sarah at [email protected], or check the DEHC website (http://www.dehc.org/) for updates on the event!

Note there is a decorating party taking place on Thursday 9/22 from 11 – 1 at 450 Washington St. to make signs and decorate bikes.  Email or call Sarah for more info.

7th annual Hub On Wheels Sunday 9/25

A Beautiful Ride.

Join us for the 7th annual Hub On Wheels citywide bike ride on Sunday, September 25th, 2011. Experience a car-free Storrow Drive, explore hidden pathways and historic neighborhoods, and take in views of the Boston Harbor that you’ve never seen before.
The ride starts and finishes on City Hall Plaza in downtown Boston, with three different routes to choose from: 10, 30 and 50 miles. Sign up now for what’s sure to be the best ride of the year. You haven’t seen the Hub until you’ve seen it on wheels.
Note: Some Dot Bikers have expressed an interest in riding with others on this ride.  If you are planning on riding and would like to connect with other Dorchester Riders email [email protected] and we can work to connect people.

An Action-Packed Race.
You won’t want to miss the third annual TD Bank Mayor’s Cup Professional Criterium race, the same weekend. More than two hundred professional racers, including national champions and Olympic cyclists, descend on Government Center to compete for $40,000 in prize money.
The TD Bank Mayor’s Cup is high-speed, spectator-friendly entertainment. Tight packs of professional cyclists will sprint around the course and dive into sharp corners at top speed.

An All-Day Cycling Celebration.
The Boloco Block Party will be in full swing all day long. City Hall Plaza will be one big bike festival with food, music, and an expo. Also be sure to catch the second annual mascot race and the kids’ race, open to any and all cyclists age 3-9.
