My name is Genea Barnes, and I am doing a photo project on ghost bikes. If you are not familiar with them, they are memorial bikes painted all white and locked to something near an intersection where a bicyclist was killed. I will be traveling through the area in October, but was wondering if you knew of any ghost bikes that have been installed in the area, and that are still there. Or perhaps you might be able to put me in contact with someone who might know. Here is more about my project:

If she wants people to get in touch with her, how about giving us her email address instead of her damn kickstarter URL?

Chillingly beautiful work. Cherish artists. Would like to see theme broadened somewhat, just because ghost bikes leave me so sad and empty. Oh, that’s right, art doesn’t always provide a resolution…

I emailed Genea Barnes details about a ghost bike my husband, Paul Larrabee painted and installed in Coolidge Corner, Brookline in 2009. She never responded.

I know this is many years later, but I just read your comment Rebecca. I received your email and responded on October 4, 2012. I also sent you another email on February 8, 2013. Perhaps my emails went into your spam folder. I am very sorry that you felt I did not respond. Your story was lovely and I was so happy that you had shared it with me. I don’t know if you will ever see this, but if you do, please know that I never wanted you to feel ignored.
