Friday “What Did You See On Your Bike” Open Thread
Written by Boston Biker on Jun 22This week I saw some crazy shit on my bike.
A guy holding an iguana riding around JP.
two guys in a honda pushing a guy in a minivan, ostensibly because the minivan had no engine.
The Boston Cyclist Union handing out big ass cookies in front of North Eastern.
About a million very attractive cyclists beating the heat in style.
Several hundred guys/ladies in suits from the Bio conference clog up down town like glue.
What did you see this week? What do you want to talk about?

Sounds like a great week! I need to bike downtown more. Haven’t seen that many cyclists out here in Brighton and Newton, which is kind of sad. Lots of bikes, but not that many people on them.
I didn’t see too much that was cool. Rode a sweet off-road path out in Wellesley on my way to a work meeting. I saw some asphalt up close when I looked at a steel cable hanging about an inch above the ground and thought “I wonder if I can just ride over that?”. Rest of the path was great, though.
I met a Newton parking enforcement lady who was really pissed that she couldn’t ticket all the jerks in the bike lane in front of BC on the Boston side of the town line for me. That was nice.

I saw two girls (clearly foreign) walk out in front of me when I had a red light and then ask if it was OK to cross the street. Way to go Boston for not giving a pedestrian walk signal when the parallel vehicular is green.
I saw a truck that needed two state troopers to help it make a right turn out of a loading dock.
I saw one guy in a Jesus van who’d run out gas in the middle of the road.
On Thursday I saw four other cyclists while turning out of my street (in Newton!).
I saw numerous illegally parked beer trucks. Why only beer trucks?
