Where
o School Street Arlington
o Start by the gate at Cutter School Park
o Finish 15’ short of Gray Street
o Riders waiting to start and after finishing will wait in The Cutter School Park
o We will provide temporary bicycle racks
o Riders after they finish will proceed west on Gray Street one block to Robbins Road and then down Robbins road to the park. Note that there are no traffic restrictions on Robbins Road.
o We plan to register riders at a pop up tent in the Cutter School Park
o 900’ course with an elevation gain of 150’, 17% average grade
When
o Saturday August 22nd
o 9:00 to 9:30 course is open for practice
o 9:30 first rider starts
o 12:30 last rider starts
o 12:45 to 1:00 Awards Ceremony
Format
o Time trial, one rider starts each minute
o Each rider gets one attempt at the hill
o Prizes awarded for 3 fastest male riders and 3 fastest female riders in each age groups
o Age groups, 12 to 14, 15 to 16, 17 to 18, 19 to 29, 30 to 39, 40 to 49, over 50
o Prizes awarded for fastest male and female Arlington Resident and fastest male and female school Street Resident.
o Expect around 150 participants
o Fastest riders will complete the course in just under a minute
Traffic Accommodations
o Plan is to keep the Street open to residents during the race
o No through traffic
o All traffic, bicycles and cars, one way up on School Street
o No parking on the west side of School Street during the race

o The race is being put on by the Quad Cycles Racing Team and the Quad Cycles bicycle Shop

Benefits
o Any profits from the race will go to support the Quad Cycles Junior Cyclocross Team
Automobile Parking
o Riders will not be allowed to park on School Street, Robbins Road, the Cutter School Condominiums lot, or the Brattle Square business lot. Please find other on street parking.
Restrooms / changing rooms
o Available at the Quad Cycles Shop, across Mass Ave and ½ block east from School Street. Please use cross walk.
Food
o Available from A and A deli on Mass Ave across from Quad Cycles
T – Shirts
o We will produce a commemorative T shirt for the event which we will be selling
Pre registration will be available at bikereg.com
o Entry fee $10 for pre registration / $13 day of registration
o All riders must wear helmets
o All bicycles must have at least one working brake
o If you are unable to complete the climb you may walk your bicycle back down the sidewalk or walk up the sidewalk to Gray Street. No riding on the sidewalk. No riding back down School Street.
o All riders must sign waiver
o Please respect the neighborhood.
