Positive Spin for ALS: June, 22, 2008
The 14th Annual Positive Spin for ALS will take place on Sunday, June 22, 2008, at The Longfellow Club in Wayland, Massachusetts. This is a wonderful day full of scenic bike routes, music, food, entertainment, children’s activities and more! Riders can choose between a children’s ride, 10 mile, 25 mile, 50 mile, and 75 mile routes. The money raised from the Spin will be used to benefit over 200 patients in Massachusetts and research worldwide. Every dollar counts and makes a huge difference in the lives of patients and their families. Alzheimer’s Association Memory Ride: July 26, 2008
The Alzheimer’s Association Memory Ride is a one-day charity event to raise money for Alzheimer’s research. Riders can choose between three distance options: 100-mile century, 62-mile metric century and 25-mile option. There are also many volunteer opportunities available! Memory Ride will begin and end in Devens, MA on Saturday, July 26, 2008. For more information and to register, please visit www.memoryride.org. Early-bird special now in place! Cycle for Shelter: July 27, 2008
The 20th annual Cycle for Shelter will take place on Sunday, July 27, 2008 at Northern Essex Community College in Haverhill, MA. The ride benefits Emmaus Inc., a non-profit that has been providing shelter, services and affordable housing to homeless men, women and children since 1985. Cycle for Shelter has been ranked one of the top rides in the United States by Bicycling Magazine. Century, Metric Century and Weekend Warrior (26 mile) scenic routes. Registration fees: $20 early bird by 3/31/08; $40 by 7/20/08; $60 on the day if available. The ride is limited to 300 riders. $125.00 minimum fundraising. There are awards for fundraising and prizes for participants. A delicious barbeque, complimentary massages, foot treatments and shower facilities await cyclists at the finish on the scenic Haverhill campus of Northern Essex Community College. Ciclismo Classico Open House: March 25, 6-8pm
Ciclismo Classico, leading purveyor of European bicycle tours (and a MassBike supporter), is holding an open house at the Griffin Museum of Photography, 67 Shore Road, Winchester. This event is a great opportunity for friends to share favorite cycling stories over a glass of wine and some great food. Friendly Ciclismo staff will be on hand to answer any tour questions you may have. Sign up for a 2008 trip and receive an extra special, open-house only, bonus of $100 off a trip booking. D2E and Urban Adventours have partnered up to offer two free bike tours the weekend of D2E.
From the Rose Kennedy Greenway to the Green Monstah – see Boston by bike. Get your blood pumping in the morning and take a bike tour before going into the convention center to check out all of the exhibits and events that will help you learn how we can help save the world. The rides are on Saturday, March 29 and Sunday, March 30, at 10am. Meet at the Hynes Convention Center, 900 Boylston Street, Boston.

BaileyWorks Art Project: April 1-30, 2008
BaileyWorks of Portsmouth, NH (a MassBike supporter) donated 13 of their large messenger bags for local artists to re-interpret: paint on, deconstruct, re-use, whatever.
