The 5th Annual Christina Clarke Genco Mother’s Day Memorial Ride

Written by Boston Biker on May 02

One of the saddest parts of running this website is reporting about cyclist deaths, way back in 2012 we reported about that Christina Clarke Genco was struck and killed while making the world a better place.   But that tragic event has been turned into something good for the world, something that Genco would have approved.

Got this in the email today.

This will be our 5th ride this year, and is done in memory of Christina Genco who tragically was struck and killed while participating in a Bike & Build Ride.  Christina was
a member of the BU Class of 2010.

For more information, please visit our site at www.ccgfoundation.org.
Registration for the ride can be done at www.bikereg.com/ccgfoundation.

Second Annual Christina Clarke Genco Mother’s Day Memorial Ride

Written by Boston Biker on Apr 25

They did it last year, and they are doing it again.  I could only hope that such a lovely organization would spring up if I were to suffer an untimely passing.   This is a great cause and I suggest you all check it out.

—————————

Last year was INCREDIBLE: we had over 300 riders and over 100 volunteers, and donated $10,000 to Habitat for Humanity. I was hoping that you’d put up a post (or at the very least list the event) highlighting the ride again this year. All of the information can be found on www.ccgfoundation.org, or is listed below. Thank you so much.

Join us at the second annual Christina Clarke Genco Mother’s Day Memorial Ride for a day of fun, food, music, prizes, and the joy of giving back to the community! Funds raised will support bike safety and affordable housing

projects in partnership with Bike & Build and Habitat for Humanity.

This day is designed for families and elite cyclists, with bike routes including 3.4, 17, 34, and 68 miles. The distances of the routes reflect the number 34 in honor of Christina’s lacrosse jersey number.  A safe biking clinic will also be provided.

Come with friends and family, or make new friends! Registration is $40 and is available online at http://bit.ly/CCG2013. See you there!
