Lady Group Ride This Friday “Chainlynx”

Written by Boston Biker on May 30

From Superb

—————–

We tried this two months ago, but the weather *seems* to be more stable. So let’s celebrate the best way we know…bike rides.

This week: Chainlynx. A lady-oriented group ride which willl depart this Friday, 6:30 PM, from Superb at 842 Beacon Street.

Here are some frequently asked questions/concerns and their answers:

“I don’t ride a fixed gear! Can I still come?”

OH MY GOODNESS OF COURSE! This is, I will repeat NOT A FIXED GEAR/ROAD BIKE RIDE. Come as you are with the trusty steel (or aluminum, or carbon or Ti) steed of your choice, and we will ride to our destination.
“I’m not fast and in shape..I don’t know if I should do it!”
This ride’s pace is contingent on the participants. This is about getting people on bikes, hanging out and having a good time. If it’s been awhile since you’ve ridden, no worries. Conversely, if you’re a speed demon who feels the need for speed all the time and needs a quick paced ride, this probably isn’t the ride for you.

“How many miles are we riding?”

Excellent question! This ride is geared to be more like 10-15 miles, with our destination being about 6-7 miles away from Superb. That way we can stop, get our snack on, and then head back. If you ever have any suggestions, let me know. This week it’s Castle Island, but next month’s destination has yet to be determined.

“But I don’t know anyone who is going!”

This ride started out in response to a vocalized desire to meet more lady cyclists. By the end of the ride you’ll know everyone! If that still weirds you out, stop by the shop on Thursday, say hi, introduce yourself. That way, you’ll know me!

Not a lady and a little bummed you don’t get to go on a group city ride? Well, you’re in luck. Within the next two weeks we’ll be starting up another unisex group ride geared towards city cycling. Feel free to give us suggestions or recommended dates/times. Again, this bike ride is for EVERYONE! We want to make sure its as convenient as possible!
