SPECIAL #BAT2019 UPDATE: With our 32nd Annual Bike-A-Thon just 2 weeks away, here’s 4 ways you can participate . . .
1.We’ve created a new, even more family friendly 10 mile Emerald Necklace route, so please encourage your family and friends to register to ride with you!
The new 10 mile Emerald Necklace route takes advantage of more bike paths and fewer hills so that less experienced riders will feel even more comfortable riding! We’ll be giving away a $25 J.P. Licks gift card to this year’s youngest rider on their own bike! We really need more riders to achieve our goals so please encourage friends and family to register now!
Do you need a bike for the 32nd Annual Bike-A-Thon? In addition to refurbished adult bicycles, our Bike Shop has children’s bikes for under $100 and a brand new selection of Bianchi bikes in stock ranging from $500 to less than $700.
2.Shop and donate at City Feed and Supply on Saturday, May 25th at both locations from open to close!
City Feed and Supply is sponsoring the Bike-A-Thon again this year by hosting a Community Day for Bikes Not Bombs tomorrow, Saturday, May 25th! That means when you donate to Bikes Not Bombs at City Feed and Supply in Jamaica Plain on Centre or Boylston, they will match up to $500! We will be at the City Feed on Centre Street offering 1/2 price Bike-A-Thon registrations for just $15 from 12pm until 3pm, but the donations will be accepted all day long! Please come by and share the Facebook event with your networks!
3.Help our BNB Youth Team Bike-A-Thon riders reach their team goal of $2500!
Even if you’re not riding the Bike-A-Thon yourself, you can donate to the Bikes Not Bombs Youth Team made up of Youth Apprentices and Alumni who are trying to raise $2500 together by riding the Bike-A-Thon.

BNB Program & Outreach Coordinator Jasmine Wilson, is leading the Bike-A-Thon ride with our Youth Apprentices as the BNB Youth Team Captain!
Jasmine says, “Bikes Not Bombs has been a second home to me. Not only did I learn bike mechanics but I learned about social and political injustice, I learned acceptance of all types of people and I formed great meaningful relationships because of it. I was so grateful when I had the opportunity to give back to an organization that has given me so much. They have really helped me form the young woman that I am today and that is really something that I will be forever thankful for.”
If you’d prefer not to ride, but want to join in the fun, we still need your help putting on the Bike-A-Thon! Please register as a Bike-A-Thon volunteer and select what you’d like to do. Volunteering is free, and you still enjoy free delicious food and receive a t-shirt as a thank you for helping.
We have another volunteer opportunity this Sunday, May 26th to help load a shipping container of bikes and parts at our BNB Warehouse, located at 10 Harvard Street in Dorchester. Instead of going to Kenya, this container is now a special shipment to the St. Maarten Bicycle Initiative, in response to rebuilding after the long reaching effects of Hurricane Irma. Learn more about the Container Loading to St. Maarten here.
