Tiny Victories

Written by Boston Biker on Sep 10

Today I convinced my boss to buy a bike pump, patch kit, and bike lube for the office. We already have about 10% of the people who work for our company riding to work, hopefully having some tools around will help encourage more.

I have also been riding with my co-workers to work to show them how easy it is, and so far all of them who took me up on the offer have kept up with regular riding.

How have you spread the cult joy of cycling among your peers?

Whatever it is you all are doing it seems to be working, I have never seen so many cyclists on the road before!

Keep up the good work, and remember ten recruits = a free toaster, 100 = a free bicycle!

One of us…one of us..one of ussss….

Good work on the “conversion.” You obviously were able to overcome the “but the helmet messes up my hair!” concern.

I too am cheered by seeing all the bicyclists around. So a question for the list … I’m thinking about getting a dog trailer for my bike so I can take the pooch to the park, the vet, etc. (I haven’t a car). I’d also like to be able to use it to tote groceries, etc. A quick Googling reveals many options … any recommendations?

I got a co-worker to ride in from Belmont with me this summer. He does it by himself now, has lost 10 pounds, and is less grumpy!
