Saturday Aug 10 10 a.m. – 12 p.m. Discover Roxbury Endurance Ride Bike Tour
Meets at Roxbury Crossing MBTA Station
Tickets Adults $10, Children $5

OK. The endurance ride through Roxbury’s hills isn’t as tough as a ride in Nepal! Yet, it is still a bit of a challenge. Don’t think of this as a tour, it’s more of an adventure. On this ride we’ll bike to the top Roxbury’s highest peaks, along some of its major roads, and past historic monuments. Stops will be limited to give us more riding time to cover as much of the neighborhood as possible. At the end of the ride, celebrate with a pub meal in Brigham Circle.  Difficulty: Challenging.

Bring a bicycle with a light and wear something reflective; helmet recommended.
Commemorative T shirts available. Bring something for pot luck breakfast Sunday in Christopher Columbus Park

Please bring a spare inner tube that fits your tires. Sponsored by Back Bay Midnight Pedalers.

In the past this has been 30-ish miles over 7-8 hours, meaning that there are a lot of interesting stops, where I usually learn something new about parts of our city. A few times in the past, the ride has gotten permission to go places that you can otherwise NEVER ride. ’nuff said.

No bike? No problem.  The FGTF will have some bikes available that participants can use, which will be picked up and returned to South Bay. To request a bike e-mail Michelle Moon at [email protected].

Bike Ride Schedule  – August 17th

10:30  Meet at South Bay parking lot with a bike  (Mass Ave side of the parking lot near the Hubway Station)
10:50  Arrive at Upham’s Corner
12:00 Arrive in Mattapan Square – bathroom and water break
12:15  Turn around to bike back to Upham’s Corner (for those who want to complete the loop)
