Things I’m looking forward to in 2013:

    – Construction of Somerville Community Path extension, between Cedar and Lowell streets

    – Construction of bike/ped underpass beneath the Route 28 bridge over the Mystic River, on the Somerville side, connecting Ten Hills to Assembly Square

    – Completion and full opening of the Fitchburg Cutoff path, from Alewife Station to Brighton Street in Belmont

    – Opening of the final ‘missing link’ between the Minuteman Bikeway and Russell FIeld, on the north side of the Alewife T station garage, next to Yates Pond. This appears to be recently finished, but is still (ineffectively) closed off with chain-link gates

    – Construction of the Revere section of the Bike to the Sea path, and completion of any remaining unfinished parts in Everett, Malden, and Saugus

    – Continued expansion of Hubway, and maybe even winter (year-round) operation?

What are all of you looking forward to this year?

How funny! Where did you find that image?

I’m also curious where you found the postcard. Is there anything interesting on the back side? When was it issued?

The landscape, the dress, and the Hebrew words (L’Shana Tova Tikatevu – May you be inscribed for a good year) suggest this was intended for the Jewish new year that begins in September, rather than the Gregorian new year in Januaray.

When I asked on Facebook for a translation of the rest of the Hebrew, some folks replied that it’s actually Yiddish. Anyone know enough of it to give it a try?
