Have you noticed something new in your neighborhood? Hubway has expanded our network of stations in Boston, Brookline, Cambridge and Somerville, creating a truly regional transit network! Ready to ride? Check out the list below of Hubway’s newest installed stations.  We’ll continue to deploy more stations over the coming weeks, so stay in touch to learn where you’ll find us next.

 

Boston Stations Installed:

  • Boylston St/Washington St
  • Allston Green District – Commonwealth Ave & Griggs St
  • South Bay Plaza – Mass Ave
  • Harvard Real Estate – Brighton Mills – 370 Western Ave

Brookline Stations Installed:

  • Coolidge Corner – Beacon St @ Centre St
  • Brookline Town Hall/Library @ Washington St

Cambridge Stations Installed:

  • Harvard Kennedy School at Bennett St/Eliot St
  • Harvard Square at Brattle St/Eliot St
  • Harvard Square at Mass Ave/Dunster St
  • Central Sq Post Office/Cambridge City Hall at Mass Ave/Pleasant St
  • Central Square at Mass Ave/Essex St
  • Lafayette Square at Mass Ave/Main St/Columbia St
  • MIT at Mass Ave/Amherst St
  • MIT State Center at Vassar St/Main St
Somerville Stations Installed:
  • Beacon St at Washington St/Kirkland St
  • Union Square – Somerville
  • Somerville City Hall

Rolling Launch Party tomorrow, August 8th!

To celebrate the expansion, there will be a series of events on Wednesday, August 8, 2012.We’ll start at Brookline Town Hall at 9 a.m., pedal to Somerville City Hall by 10 a.m., then be at Cambridge City Hall at 11 a.m.  From there, we’ll hold a group ride to a block party celebration in Harvard Square. (Please note that usage fees will be incurred as normal during the Launch Party.)  Boston Bikes will also be on hand to greet riders at new stations in Chinatown and the Seaport district. Detailed schedule as follows:

 

9am: Brookline Town Hall – Ribbon Cutting with Selectwoman Jesse Mermell

 

10am: Somerville City Hall – Ribbon Cutting with Mayor Curtatone

10:30am: Riders depart from Hubway stations at Somerville City Hall and MIT toward Cambridge City Hall

 

11am: Cambridge City Hall – Remarks from Mayor Henrietta Davis, MAPC Executive Director Marc Draisen, officials from MassDOT and FTA. Postmaster Katherine Lydon will unveil a new bicycle stamp!

 

12pm: Ride from Cambridge City Hall to Harvard Square for a lunch celebration (free and open to the public) sponsored by Harvard University and the Harvard Square Business Association.

 

12-1pm: Boston Bikes celebrates with High Fives and Helmets at the new Hubway station on Boylston St. and Washington St., giving away free helmets to the first 25 people on bikes or with a Hubway key.

 

4:30-5:30pm: Boston Bikes gives out more High Fives and Helmets at the new Hubway station at South Bay Plaza.

Photo Contest!

Want to win a Hubway annual membership? Take four photos of yourself or a friend at any Hubway station in Brookline, Cambridge, Somerville, and at one of the new Boston stations. Post your photos on the Hubway Facebook wall (www.facebook.com/hubway) or email them to[email protected] by midnight on Wednesday, August 8th. Four winners will be randomly selected as winners, plus one extra winner for the most creative photos as chosen by the Hubway staff. Winners will receive a free Hubway annual membership and Bern helmet!
