Written by Boston Biker on Apr 23

I have gotten word that Kristopher Carter current adviser to the Mayor, has been made the interim director of the Boston Bicycle program. I have heard from a couple people that he is a pretty good guy, but more info when I get it.

Can’t confirm this yet, more info when I get it.

Volunteer at Bikes Not Bombs for 3 years, won awards at a couple Boston Bicycle Film Festivals, should be a good guy http://www.smallcraftadvisoryproductions.com/wp-content/uploads/2011/05/RESUME_KWC_5_11.pdf

Mr. Carter seems to be very responsive. I requested racks and issued a complaint about the lack of a crossing at Route 9 and the Emerald Necklace @ Leverett Pond, and he got right back to me:

“As for the Route 9 crossing – this has been a black eye on the bicycle network for Boston and Brookline for years. The Town of Brookline (which has jurisdiction) and MassDOT are working on a solution for that crossing. The design has gone through extensive community process and will hopefully be installed next year.”

    Sounds promising!
