Going Really Fast

Written by Boston Biker on Feb 02

You might disagree, but I find that some of my happiest moments on a bicycle are when I got myself a large open stretch of intersection free road ahead of me and I can get my speed on. I am talking panting, leg mashing, red faced, frothy sweat, speed blasting. Just letting the throttle open and seeing just how fast and for how long you can get your bicycle to fly. The kind of biking that leaves you bent over and heaving after. Never do I feel more alive.

Even though this has been the winter that wasn’t most of my speed work has been done indoors on the rollers this winter. To aid in the pursuit of speed, I have found that a good sound track will help you get the job done. I don’t advocate listening to music when you ride in traffic, but will make exceptions if you are in a suitable location. So below is my “go really fast” sound track.

These songs were not picked because they are “good” music, but rather for their cadence, beat, and the order was chosen to present some time to “rest.” (lots of youtube videos below, click to keep reading)

What songs do you listen to get your speed on?

Kittie – The Change

Papa Roach, orange drive palms
