Got this in the email, looks pretty awesome.

Join us for Beyond the Bike 2011, the signature fundraising event of Beyond the 11th – a foundation dedicated to imparting the widows of Afghanistan with entrepreneurial skills they need to lift themselves out of poverty and oppression. Beyond the Bike 2011 will mark the 10th anniversary of the 9/11 attacks, when co-founder Susan Retik’s husband was killed on the first plane to hit the World Trade Center. We will ride in honor of all the victims and rescuers who lost their lives that day. But we will also ride in celebration of the countless acts of courage and humanity that have marked the decade since.

There are lots of ways to get involved. You can register to cycle in one of two exhilarating rides: 3-day Founders Ride from Ground Zero in New York to Boston, 25 mile Celebration Ride to the finish or you can fundraise as a “virtual rider” without ever donning a stitch of spandex. Both Rides will end together at the Hatch Shell in Boston on the Charles River. Cost: $175 registration fee (covers cost of hotel rooms, meals, support, bike jersey, etc. from 9/9 – 9/11) for the Founders Ride from Ground Zero – Boston and Fundraising Commitment is $4,000; $25 registration fee for the Commemoration Ride and Fundraising Commitment is $250.
