Full-time, salary position
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE REQUIRED
B.A., B.S., or higher degree in Communication, Health-Related or Urban Planning field of study. Experience in program management preferred. Research or experience related to undeserved communities. Knowledge of active living initiatives. Strong coalition-building skills.

DESCRIPTION
Work to expand the Crim Fitness Foundation’s capacity to implement environmental and policy change related to active living. Coordinate local efforts to increase active transportation in Flint and Genesee County. Provide technical assistance for the grant-funded Safe and Active Flint (SAF) project and the Safe and Active Genesee for Everyone (SAGE) initiative.

RESPONSIBILITIES
The Active Living Coordinator will report directly to the President and CEO of the Crim Fitness Foundation. Responsibilities include (but are not limited to):
• Provide leadership and oversight of grant-funded community-based projects (SAF and SAGE)
• Work with existing coalition to coordinate elements of SAF and SAGE, including Safe Routes to School, Safe Routes for Work, Smart Commute, Complete Streets, trail improvements, social marketing efforts
• Coordinate advocacy efforts related to active living
• Work to advocate and strengthen public policy support for active living
• Pursue funding, including grants, to support growth and sustainability of programs
• Continue and enhance collaborative efforts with stakeholders
• Strengthen ties between related efforts in Flint and Genesee County
• Serve on related committees

QUALIFICATIONS
• Strong written and oral communication skills
• Experience with creating and implementing advocacy initiatives
• Consensus-builder
• Experience working with coalitions and non-profit organizations
• Ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously
• Team player, while able to be self-directed
• Results-oriented mindset and detail-oriented work style
• Creative
• Computer software skills (MS Office—Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint; desktop publishing knowledge a plus)
