Friends of GLBT Youth
Boston Common
Saturday, May 10th
Time: TBD
Friends of GLBT is a non-profit organization that implements programs that help to prevent GLBT Youth Suicide. They are hosting their 14th annual Youth Pride Celebration on May 10th on Boston Commons. This year’s theme is “ACTual REALity”. More and more youth are making the unhealthy decisions related to spending an excessive amount of time in front of computers, playing video games, and watching T.V. Basically, being sedentary, and GLBT youth are as much affected by this as any other young person. Friends of GLBT have decided to tackle this issue by dedicating an entire day to encouraging their community to choose action-oriented recreational activities such as bicycling. They are especially keen to getting this age group involved in cycling as they begin to think about and apply for their driving permits. MassBike is looking for volunteer assistance with managing a table.
